An expedition that disappeared under unclear circumstances: fragments of the field diary.
The story is fictional and is a creative interpretation by artist Olga Fossa Golubeva.
On June 22, 2023, a group of tourists discovered an abandoned camp in the mountains of Eastern Seita. There were no signs of an attack; all items were neatly in place. Mountain rescuers began their search. They managed to contact all groups that had gone on the routes, but no missing persons were reported.
It soon became evident that the items left in the camp were scientific field materials. These included herbaria, insect collections, dozens of hours of video footage, and strange drawings. Investigators eventually realized that no single item in the camp was younger than 50 years old.
This marked the discovery of the last traces of Professor Fossogawa’s missing expedition. Enigmatic findings inspired artist Olga Fossa Golubeva to create a series of works that reflect fragments from the expedition's diary and its discoveries.
This project showcases the found materials alongside Olga's artistic interpretation. It is an attempt to gather the most characteristic and striking examples to provide insight into the diversity of Fossogawa's collection.
