In my last series of paintings, I explore Rites of Passage in modern society, focusing on liminality and its subtle yet profound influence on an individual’s life. Despite technological advancement and progressive thinking, these transitional states remain deeply ingrained. Drawing from personal experience, I visually document the uncertainty, emotional intensity, and vulnerability of passing through such a phase.
The intentionally warm color palette symbolizes vitality and the significance of ritual while exposing the destructive aspects of transition. Mystification paralyzes, numbing both body and mind, draining life’s warmth. My goal is not to present a straightforward narrative but to shift perspectives, offering a new way of seeing the transformation process.
