About the artist
Sandra Osīte, a ceramic artist with over 25 years of experience, finds inspiration in the awakening of the sea and land in spring. Vibrant colors and expressive brushstrokes adorn the rough surfaces of her pottery, capturing the essence of renewal and movement.
Her journey in ceramics began in 1990 at the Folk University of the Polygraphic Culture Center, where she studied applied arts with a focus on ceramics. Mentored by ceramic master Vineta Viziņa, Sandra honed her skills and passion for pottery. Later, she continued her studies in art pedagogy at the University of Latvia while teaching ceramics at Bolderāja Music and Art School.
In recent years, Sandra has returned to ceramics with renewed vigor, creating functional pieces accentuated by lively colors. Currently, she shares her expertise as a teacher at Salacgrīva Art School while actively participating in exhibitions showcasing her creative talents in ceramics, design, and photography.
